VA is learning more about using virtual reality in Veteran health care and finding it eases pain and anxiety and enhances rehabilitation in ways traditional methods have not. Earlier this year Sierra Barnes, an occupational therapy student at the G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, began a project to develop and implement a virtual reality protocol tailored for the acute care setting in occupational therapy.
